EghtesadOnline: A glance at Iran’s meat packing industry shows red meat production in the country has been climbing during the six years to March 20, 2017, narrowing the gap between production and domestic demand.

EghtesadOnline: With the daily import of between 60 and 70 tons of red meat alongside domestic production, there is enough of the product to meet domestic demand during the months of Muharram and Safar (the first two months of the Islamic calendar that starts on Sept. 22), the head of Tehran Guild Union for Lamb Meat Supply and Distribution, Ali Asghar Maleki, said.
