EghtesadOnline: The average age of Iranian farmers stands at 53 years and if 60 is taken as the retirement age, the country will face a shortage of farmers in less than a decade.

EghtesadOnline: The government will grant 800 billion rials (over $21 million) in aid to farmers whose orchards were damaged in Mazandaran by frost last November, the head of the northern Iranian province’s Agricultural Jihad Organization said.

EghtesadOnline: Although the agriculture sector had an effective role in Iran’s economic growth in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2017), former agriculture minister, Isa Kalantari, believes the new year would be a tough year for Iranian farmers.
