Iran Condemns US’ Meddling, Hypocritical Policies

The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned a recent statement by the US State Department, issued on the anniversary of the September 2022 unrest in Iran, describing it as a “manifestation of Washington’s hostile and criminal interference in Iran’s internal affairs.”

The Foreign Ministry of Iran stressed in a statement that no wise or patriotic Iranian would ever accept US claims of friendship and sympathy, given Washington’s long record of hostility and crimes against the Iranian nation —from orchestrating the 1953 coup and backing Saddam Hussein in the imposed war of the 1980s, to the use of chemical weapons against Iranians, the downing of an Iranian passenger plane in 1988, and the imposition of cruel sanctions.

The statement also pointed to the US’ complicity with the Zionist regime in nuclear sabotage operations, assassinations of Iranian scientists and defenders of the nation, and the killing of Iranian civilians in the June 2025 aggression.

The Foreign Ministry noted that the US, as the chief supporter of the occupying and genocidal Zionist regime —responsible for the massacre of more than 65,000 innocent people, mostly women and children, in less than two years— has no legitimacy to speak about human rights. It further noted that systemic racism and discrimination are embedded in America’s political culture, disqualifying its rulers from making moral claims on such issues.

Highlighting the vigilance of the Iranian nation, the Ministry stated that the people of Iran will continue to judge US officials’ rhetoric in light of their duplicitous and criminal record across the world, particularly in West Asia.

The statement concluded that the Iranian nation will neither forget nor forgive the ongoing unlawful interference and brutal crimes of the US government against the Islamic Republic./tasnim
