Qalibaf: Iran, Pakistan United Against Zionist Aggression
Iran and Pakistan, as friendly neighbors with shared interests, can stand together against the Zionist regime and its supporters while working to deepen cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said.
Qalibaf, who is leading a parliamentary delegation to Pakistan, met with Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Praising the Pakistani people for their support of the Iranian nation in the face of the Zionist regime’s aggressions, Qalibaf said such solidarity reflects the depth of friendly relations between the people of Iran and Pakistan.
The speaker noted that standing together in difficult times demonstrates the strength of Tehran-Islamabad relations and expressed hope that this visit would contribute to closer ties, especially between the two parliaments.
Referring to the Israeli and US act of aggression against Iran in June, Qalibaf said that although the early hours of the attack were difficult, Iran responded swiftly and decisively, in a way that the Zionist regime had never experienced since its establishment in 1948.
He emphasized that, given their numerous shared interests, Iran and Pakistan can cooperate to confront the ambitions of the Zionist regime and its backers. He added that Tehran and Islamabad are capable of expanding their cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields, and that the main goal of this visit is to strengthen these relations.
For his part, Ayaz Sadiq expressed appreciation for Iran’s support of the people and government of Pakistan and congratulated the Iranian nation on its victory over the Zionist regime.
He said that when the Zionist regime attacked Iran, Pakistan’s parliament passed a resolution condemning those assaults, as Islamabad considers Israel a common enemy of both Iran and Pakistan.
Sadiq noted that Iran had put an end to the myth of the Zionist regime’s “invincible Iron Dome,” adding that the actions taken during the final day of the war were particularly devastating for Israel.
He then stressed that the Pakistani and Iranian nations are like one people, living on both sides of a shared border.
The Pakistani parliament speaker also noted that the Iran–Pakistan parliamentary friendship groups would convene to develop a new strategic framework for promoting bilateral cooperation, adding that senior parliamentary officials of both countries would engage in detailed and comprehensive discussions to advance these objectives./tasnim
