Iranian, Pakistani foreign ministers discuss regional developments by phone
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Pakistani counterpart, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a phone conversation to discuss regional and international developments.
According to a press release issued on Saturday by the office of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, the country’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister, who is currently visiting the UAE, received a phone call from his Iranian counterpart.
Araghchi and Ishaq Dar exchanged views on regional and international developments, the statement said.
The Iranian foreign minister thanked Ishaq Dar for Pakistan’s vote against an anti-Iran resolution at the latest meeting of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, expressing appreciation to the people and government of Pakistan, the statement read.
The 39th session of the UN Human Rights Council was held on Friday, during which a resolution criticizing the human rights situation in Iran was adopted.
Iran described the resolution as a clearly political act and completely devoid of any genuine concern for human rights./irna
