FM Araghchi congratulates national futsal team on winning Asian title

In a message on Sunday, Araghchi praised the Iranian futsal team for their victory in the final of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup, highlighting it as a demonstration of Iran's capabilities and dynamism across the continent.

The top Iranian diplomat characterized the championship as a clear sign of the unwavering determination of a great nation to overcome challenges and achieve the highest honors.

Araghchi extended his congratulations to the Iranian nation, the players, the coaching staff, the Football Federation, and the Ministry of Sport and Youth.

Iran won the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup in Indonesia, defeating the host team 5-4 in a penalty shootout after an exciting final that ended 5-5 following extra time.

This victory marks Iran’s 14th championship title.

The 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup was held in Indonesia from January 27 to February 7, featuring 16 of Asia’s top national futsal teams vying for the region’s premier title./irna
