Top official conveys President Pezeshkian’s greetings to Armenian PM
Senior Iranian and Armenian officials have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation and advancing regional stability during talks in Yerevan, where Iran’s top planning official conveyed President Masoud Pezeshkian’s greetings to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The meeting between Hamid Pourmohammadi, deputy president and head of Iran’s Planning and Budget Organization, and Pashinyan took place on Friday, following his arrival in Armenia.
Pourmohammadi conveyed greetings from President Pezeshkian to Armenia’s government and people, expressing appreciation for Yerevan’s humanitarian support for Iran during difficult periods.
Pashinyan stressed the importance of strengthening peace and stability in the region, saying it would support sustainable development and broader cooperation across regional states.
The two sides discussed progress on key cross-border infrastructure projects, including a second bridge, removal of transport bottlenecks, modernization of the Nurdouz and Meghri border terminals, and integration of electronic customs systems.
They also reviewed efforts to expand cooperation in energy, agriculture, mining, and other economic sectors while emphasizing the implementation of previously agreed measures and strengthening ties between economic operators.
Pashinyan, in turn, asked Pourmohammadi to convey his greetings to Iran’s president and people./irna
