Chitchian: Dlrs 3.5 bn foreign investment in energy sector in post-JCPOA era
EghtesadOnline: Minister of Energy Hamid Chitchian said on Tuesday that dlrs 3.5 billion joint venture investment were made in water and energy sector with foreign partners after implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
He told IRNA that in addition to the amount, other contracts on usance are to be implemented in the near future.
On his recent visit to London, he said that during his stay he met with UK Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change on expansion of cooperation on energy.
They also negotiated with some 30 British companies in various energy sector, he said.
Britain has formed a coalition on renewable solar energy and are ready to generate some 1000 megawatt for Iranian firms, he said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran never seeks to purchase finished products and instead is to make use of their technological assistance, he said.
Energy minister leading a delegation arrived in London last Monday on ways to broaden economic cooperation on energy sector with Britain.
