Public choose Iranian woman as best Rio 2016 athlete

EghtesadOnline: Iranian woman was chosen as the Best Female Athlete of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

According to the official website of the Paralympic Movement, the public has voted for the Iranian Athlete Sareh Javanmardi as the Best Female Athlete of the Rio 2013 Paralympic games, according to ISNA.

It is considered the second victory for Iran as the Iranian power lifter Siamand Rahman  also received the Best Male honor last week.

Sareh Javanmardi made history by becoming Iran's first ever female gold medallist in Paralympic shooting.

It was a close race in the public polls between Javanmardi (41 per cent) and Italian wheelchair fencer Beatrice Vio (38 per cent). US Para triathlete Grace Norman was third with 19 per cent of the votes.
