Gholam-Ali Jafarzadeh Imenabadi, head of the Iranian delegation to the 136th Assembly of IPU underway in Dhaka, described the UAE anti-Iran remarks as wrong and groundless.

According to IRNA, the policies the UAE has adopted on the present regional crises including Syria and Yemen have proved the country’s immaturity and its irresponsibility toward the regional questions, the official noted.

'The envoy of Abu Dhabi baselessly accuses Iran of meddling in the internal affairs of other countries, while his country bombards the innocent Yemenis with its fighters,' the Iranian official underlined.

He went on to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran is after removal of tensions and expansion of friendly relations with all Persian Gulf littoral states.

Iran, he added, has always endeavored to have good and friendly ties with its neighbors as well as the countries in the Persian Gulf region.

“Once again, we extend our invitation and express our willingness to hold talks to remove the misunderstandings and revive the friendly relations,” he stressed.

The Iranian delegation headed by Jafarzadeh-Imenabadi arrived in the Bangladeshi capital on Saturday (April 1) to take part in the 136th Assembly of the IPU and its related meetings on April 1-5.

IPU, an international organization, is established in 1889. Its purpose is to hold international parliamentary talks in order to settle peace and security and promote democracy around the world.
