Petrochem Exports Exceeded 18m Tons
EghtesadOnline: Iranian petrochemical production in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year (March 21, 2017- Jan. 20) exceeded 44 million tons, the portal of the National Petrochemical Company said in a report.
According to NIPNA, petrochemical complexes exported close to 18.5 million tons of different commodities during the period. Pars Special Economic Energy Zone in Asalouyeh accounted for 9.5 million tons of the total export, Mahshahr Special Petrochemical Economic Zone exported 5 million tons and the rest was dispatched to target destinations from other regions, namely Kharg. Petrochemical consignments went mostly to Asia, Europe and South America. According to Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, Iran's annual petrochemical revenue has averaged $20 billion in the last five years. Petrochemical is Iran's most important industry after oil and gas. The state-run National Petrochemical Company hopes to lift nominal output capacity to more than 120 million tons per annum by 2022, the last year of Iran's Sixth Five-Year Economic Development Plan, according to Financial Tribune.
