Iran's Non-Oil Trade With Turkey Nears $3.7b

EghtesadOnline: Iran traded 6.93 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $3.69 billion with Turkey during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Dec. 21), to register a 29.91% growth in tonnage and 6.63% decline in value compared with last year's corresponding period, latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.

Turkey was Iran’s 10th trading partner in the world during the period under review.

Iran’s exports to Turkey stood at 6.03 million tons worth $1.91 billion, up 54.25% and 22.32% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year. 

Turkey was Iran’s fifth major export destination, Financial Tribune reported.

Iran mainly exported liquefied natural gas, non-alloy zinc, aluminum and bitumen to Turkey during the nine months.

Turkey exported 901,135 tons of goods worth $1.78 billion to Iran, down 36.85% and 25.53% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. 

Turkey was the sixth exporter of goods to Iran.

The imports mainly included cooking bananas, tobacco, fibers, cotton and auto parts.
