Growth in Output of 30 Industrial Products

EghtesadOnline: The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's review of fiscal 2019-20 shows that the output of 30 industrial and mineral products registered growth compared to the year before.

The highest growth was registered for pesticide production with 36,600 tons, up by 37.2% year-on-year.

Washing machine production stood next with 732,200 units to register a year-on-year increase of 32%.

Production of pickup trucks rose by more than 29.5% to 66,800 units.

A total of 48.2 billion items of human pharmaceuticals were produced during the year under review, indicating a 23.7% rise YOY.

More than 296,200 tons of polyester filament yarn were produced, indicating a 20.8% growth YOY.

The production of polyester fibers totaled 239,900 tons, up by 18.8% YOY.

Electric motor production rose by 15.5% YOY to 9.31 million units, followed by glassware that increased by 14.3% to reach 530,400 tons.

Next were tractors with 18,657 vehicles, up by 13.1% YOY; followed by particle board with 698,000 cubic meters, up 12.2% YOY; cement with 61.36 million tons, up by 11.2% YOY; vegetable oil with 1.8 million tons, up 10.3% YOY; porcelain ware with 54,800 tons, up 9.9% YOY; cotton yarn with 238,300 tons, up 8.2% YOY; and fridge with 1.16 million units, up 7.8% YOY.

Paper production saw a 7.4% YOY rise to reach 1 million tons.

Production of glass sheet went up 7% YOY to 1.04 million tons. It was followed by crude steel that increased by 6.3% YOY to 25.23 million tons; evaporative coolers, also up 6.3% YOY to 904,900 units; television, up 6.3% YOY to 825,400 items; steel products, up 4.5% YOY to 20.51 million tons; tiles and ceramics, up 4.5% YOY to 398.85 million square meters; auto tires, up 4% YOY to 231,700 tons; and sanitary ware, up 2.3% YOY to 104,100 tons.

Petrochemical production witnessed a 1.8% growth to reach 54.5 million tons while fiber production amounted to 1.21 million cubic meters, up 1.4% YOY.

Copper cathode production went up 1.2% YOY to reach 252,200 tons, followed by leather that increased by 0.9% to 49 million square feet.

Carton output stood at 519,400 tons, up 0.6% YOY followed by footwear with 139.3 million pairs, up by 0.2% YOY.
