Oman Backs Efforts to Promote Regional Peace, Security
EghtesadOnline: Oman Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi stated that his country supports any measures that can help secure peace and security in the region.
“Oman always adopts the policy of good neighborliness and positive cooperation,” Albusaidi said in a joint press conference following his meeting with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Tehran on Saturday, ISNA reported.
The top Omani diplomat also underscored maritime security in the region, “since safety in trade and economy will eventually be in the interest of regional nations.”
“This will be in the service of our partnerships and foreign relations,” he noted.
He pointed to the many challenges facing countries in the Middle East and said the only way to solve problems was to collectively discuss them and find peaceful ways to sort them out.
“The only way to solve these problems and challenges is through dialogue and understanding,” he stated.
In response to recent terrorist attacks in Iran, Albusaidi spoke out against terrorism and violence and said reasons behind such violent acts needed to be investigated.
Albusaidi concluded his remarks by inviting his counterpart to Muscat for negotiations on regional peace and security.
