Salehi: Iran, ITER ink MoU
EghtesadOnline: Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali-Akbar Salehi said on Saturday that Iran and France's International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) have inked the first Memorandum of Understanding.
Salehi made the remarks on the sideline of his meeting with Director-General of ITER International Fusion Energy Organization Bernard Bigot in Tehran on Saturday, according to IRNA.
He also expressed hope that Iran could join the ITER project by end of 2016.
As per the MoU, Iran and ITER are obliged to keep information of the two sides as confidential.
He also expressed hope that the two sides could ink a cooperation agreement in the upcoming weeks.
Bigot met with Salehi in Tehran this morning.
Bigot also conferred with Vice-President for Science and Technology and President of the National Elites Foundation Sorena Sattari.
During the two-day trip, he is scheduled to hold meetings with nuclear fusion experts.
Salehi and Sattari heading a delegation recently visited International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) in France.
