Iran taking part in Budapest Water Summit 2016 in Hungary

EghtesadOnline: Deputy Minister of Energy for Water and Wastewater Rahim Meidani will take part in the Second International Water Summit in Budapest on November 28-30, Iran's Ambassador to Hungary said on Sunday.

Gholam Ali Rajabi-Yazdi told IRNA that the event is an initiative of Hungarian government and in cooperation with World Water Council with the motto of 'Water connects all together'.

Iran will participate in the event actively and Mr. Meidani will deliver speech to the summit and he will also take part in the specialized panels.

He further noted that over 1,800 officials from 117 countries including six presidents, 18 ministers and 14 deputy ministers along with representatives of the international organizations are participating in the event.

Rajabi-Yazdi said that the three-day summit will seek to promote sustainable development of water and ensuring water quality.

Sciences and technology, youth, civil society and women are the topics on agenda of the specialized panels, he said.

First round of the summit was held in Budapest in October 2013 in presence of 1,400 representatives from 105 countries and Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon.
