Iranian consulates in Turkey stop consular services
EghtesadOnline: Iran's embassy in Turkey declared that the Iranian consulate generals in Istanbul, Erzurum and Trabzon are closed on Tuesday (December 20).
In the statement, released on Monday evening, the Iranian embassy asked the Iranian citizens not to go to the consulates on Tuesday for consular services.
According to ILNA, the statement was released after assassination of Russian ambassador in Turkey on Monday.
The Russian envoy Andrey Karlov, 62, was gunned down by a Turkish police officer while he was making a speech at the opening ceremony of an art gallery in the Turkish capital. The attacker was later shot dead by the police, media reports said.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Monday strongly condemned the assassination as an “act of evil.”
