33,000 affected with HIV in Iran: Ministry of Health
EghtesadOnline: There are 33,000 cases of HIV infection living in Iran, says Deputy Minister of Health Ali Akbar Sayyari.
Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in an exclusive interview Sunday evening, Sayyari said that so far 8,000 people have died as a result of the infectious disease.
'18,000 people diagnosed with the viral disease are receiving treatments in the country,' he said.
Iran's deputy health minister also said that the ministry is exploiting all in its capacity to address the HIV AIDS problem.
