Iran’s Global Innovation Index up 28 degrees

EghtesadOnline: Minister of Sciences, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi said on Monday that Iran improved significantly in the Global Innovation Index (GII), in 2016.

Speaking in a local gathering, Farhadi stressed that Iran’s GII improved 28 degrees in 2016, showing five percent increase compared to 2015.

According to IRNA, he added that currently Iran is conducting 235 joint research projects with other universities across the globe. 

As per the Centrum voor Wetenschap en Technologische Studies (CWTS) Leiden Ranking, he said that Iranian universities are among the most effective and top universities across the globe.

Commenting on the construction of 39 Iranian science and technology parks nationwide, he added the centers exported over $100 million worth of their products in 2015 and 2014. 

According to media reports, Iran has made major breakthroughs in many scientific areas such as nano-technology, biotechnology, stem cell, genetic engineering, Aerospace sciences and Medicine, etc.
