Mohammad Reza Ganji did not compare this year’s import value with that of last year. He noted that this year’s domestic tire production has seen a 15% rise without elaborating, ISNA reported. Abbas Abbasi, a member of the Association of Tire Manufacturers, had earlier said over 80% of tires imported to Iran come from China, adding that the 20% anti-dumping duty currently in place is not sufficient to protect local manufacturers, Financial Tribune reported.
