Iran's international customs ties will be developed with the active diplomacy of the country's Customs Administration and as a result of signing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), announced the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration

The Europeans’ willingness to promote ties with Iran derives from the present positive atmosphere created after the landmark nuclear deal implementation in January 2016, according to IRNA.

Iran-Europe official talks on promotion of customs relations have officially kicked off when head of Iran’s Customs Administration Masoud Karbasian attended a meeting of the World Customs Organization in Belgium on July 6-8.

While in Belgium, Karbasian met and negotiated with European Commissioner for Taxation and Customs Union about Facilitation, acceleration and development of bilateral ties as well as exchange of agreements on mutual cooperation in the field of customs activities between Iran and Europe.

Both sides announced that there is a strong will to promote customs relations referring to the atmosphere of the cooperation as positive.

Serious determinations exist to improve customs relations between Iran and Europe.

During the past few, Iran Customs Administration has begun special plans and programs to develop international cooperation in the field of customs activities to present Iran’s capacity at the international level.

Iran’s experience and its first place in the world in fight against drugs as well as its second rank in fight against breaking the rules and smuggling have encouraged the Europeans to cooperate in these fields.
