120 pct growth in Iran-Vietnam trade ties

EghtesadOnline: Iran has experienced a 120-percent growth in its economic relations with Vietnam in the past four years, Iranian minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh announced.

According to ISNA, he made the remarks at the 9th Iran-Vietnam Joint Economic Commission in Tehran in which the Vietnamese minister of agriculture also participated.

Referring to Iran-Vietnam economic ties, he said, "Today after four years standstill, we are witnessing the re-launching of the two countries' joint economic commission".

"Economic exchanges between Iran and Vietnam should reach at least $2 billion annually," Nematzadeh went on to say.

Reciprocal visits of the presidents of Iran and Vietnam in the past few months show the profound level of cooperation between the two countries, the minister noted.

"Vietnam is one of the members of ASEAN and has relations with China, so it can become a center for Iranian traders," Nematzadeh said.
