Iran to build 2nd phase of Imam Khomeini petchem complex
EghtesadOnline: Iran's top oil official said on Thursday that Tehran has planned to construct second phase of the Imam Khomeini petrochemical complex in a 1,000-hectare area in the southwestern province of Khuzestan.
Addressing a local gathering in Khuzestan, Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said that provincial potentials should be used to upgrade gas exports to other countries, IRNA reported.
Referring to Iraq as a major market for Iran’s gas exports, Zangeneh said, “Iraq is the closest market to Khuzestan and the Iranian province has so far played a major role in exporting of gas to Iraq. However, he added, the province had to boost a more active in that regard.
The minister added that the volume of Iran’s gas exports to Iraq would increase remarkably with proper future planning.
