9-10% of Iranian Workers Part-Timers
EghtesadOnline: Part-time workers constitute 9-10% of Iran’s employed population, the head of Statistical Center of Iran said.
Omid Ali Parsa added that there are 23.8 million full-time employees in the country.
According to the SCI chief, unemployment is defined as a state of not working for even an hour and part-time employees are those who work between one and 44 hours a week.
Parsa put the number of unemployed people in Iran at 3.1 million, Financial Tribune reported.
The Statistical Center of Iran’s latest report on Iran’s unemployment shows Iran’s jobless rate in the second quarter of the current fiscal year (June 22-Sept. 22) stood at 11.7%, registering a 1% drop compared with the same period of last year and a 0.9% decrease compared with the previous quarter.
