Allocation of credit lines from Norway to Iran was one of the main points discussed during the meeting attended by the head of the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran, Mohammad Khazaei, and Norwegian Ambassador in Tehran Lars Nordrum.

The two officials agreed on how to proceed, Shada, the official news outlet of Economy Ministry reported.

Khazaei, who is also a deputy economy minister, hailed the European Union’s decision to support Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal and emphasized enhancement of ties between Iran and Norway, as the two countries share an amiable history, according to Financial Tribune.

“Opening credit lines, cooperating in bankrolling projects and boosting bilateral ties between Iran-Norway banks and credit institutions are the foundation of expanding economic ties,” he added.

The Norwegian ambassador also declared his country’s full support for Iran’s nuclear accord and noted that there are many ways of expanding relations with Iran, as the country offers many opportunities.

“Norway is very eager to boost its ties with Iran and open a new chapter in the two countries’ mutual relations, especially in sectors like oil and gas, renewable energies, shipping, fishing and modern agriculture,” he said.

Nordrum also emphasized his country’s interest in increasing interactions between the two countries’ private sectors.
