Value of Non-Oil Exports to Syria Rises 27%

EghtesadOnline: Iran exported 43,592 tons of non-oil commodities worth $326.10 million to Syria in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2018), posting a 20.99% decline in tonnage and 27.22% increase in value respectively year-on-year, as the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration’s data show.

Syria was Iran’s 19th biggest export destination during the period. Exports mainly included pipe, profile, radar devices, chemicals and pharmaceutical supplements.

Meanwhile, Syria exported 3,734 tons of goods worth $13.50 million to Iran last year, up 22.04% and 40.61% in tonnage and value respectively YOY.

Syria was the 76th biggest exporter of goods to Iran during the period. Iran mainly imported baby clothing accessories, olive oil and olives from Syria, according to Financial Tribune.

Bilateral trade stood at $339.6 million to register an increase of 27.71% compared with the previous year.

IRICA’s latest data indicate that Iran exported 9,207 tons of non-oil commodities worth $23.80 million to Syria during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21-May 21), up by 153.65% in tonnage but down by 7.96% in value YOY.
