Payam Cargo Airport to Operate Passenger Flights
EghtesadOnline: Payam International Airport, a cargo airport located in Karaj, Alborz Province, will start operating passenger flights in the Iranian month starting Aug. 23, the airport’s managing director announced.
According to Saeed Zarandi, the passenger section of the airport will start operating with two flights a day and it will increase its flights to six by the fiscal yearend (March 20, 2019), IRNA reported.
“As of now, the construction of the 6,000-square-meter passenger terminal at Payam airport has been completed and we’re installing the equipment. Plans are underway to build another terminal as well,” Financial Tribune quoted him as saying.
“We hope to have a passenger transport capacity of 500,000 per year by the yearend, which can be later increased to 3.5 million passengers per year.”
