Iran's Trade With Turkey Hit $1.6b in 5 Months

EghtesadOnline: Iran traded 1.47 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $1.60 billion with Turkey during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22).

This registers a 1.22% growth in tonnage and 15.27% decline in value compared with last year’s corresponding period, latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show. Iran’s exports to Turkey stood at 953,983 tons worth $672.31 million, up 41.08% and 9% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year. Turkey was Iran’s seventh major export destination during the period. Iran mainly exported kraft paper, non-alloy zinc, semi-finished non-alloy iron and steel products to Turkey during the five-month period. Turkey exported 523,478 tons of goods worth $933.12 million to Iran, down 33.18% and 26.98% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. It was the sixth major exporter of goods to Iran over the five months. The imports mainly included data transmission devices, cooking bananas and auto parts, Financial Tribune reported.
