The local chamber of commerce chief outlined what the province can offer, namely the potential of the largest tire manufacturing company of Iran, Barez, which also imports about 22,000 to 25,000 tons of natural rubber, only 10% of which come from Indonesia.

He also said there are 400,000 tons worth of capacity for refinement and packaging of edible oils in Iran, according to Financial Tribune.

Dates and pistachios, handicrafts, renewable energies, medicinal plants, mines and iron are other areas with potential to boost bilateral trade, the official news website of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture reported on Thursday.

The ambassador praised the fact that Iran and Indonesia have only boosted their political and cultural ties in recent years, adding that he sees no barrier to boosting trade.

"We ask traders and the Kerman chamber members to do what is necessary to increase the level of trade relations," Alimudin said.
