Qeshm Exports Earn $21m in 10 Months
EghtesadOnline: Qeshm, the largest island in Persian Gulf, exported 1,975 tons of commodities worth $21 million during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2019-Jan. 20) to register a 237% and 568% growth in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year’s corresponding period.
According to Director General of Qeshm Customs Administration Hossein Saeedi, the exports mainly included apparel, tobacco, home appliances and machinery, IRNA reported.
A total of 91,496 tons of commodities worth over $179.67 million were imported into the island during the same period to register a 196% and 17% growth in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to Financial Tribune.
The imports mainly included rice, auto parts, tea, packaging machinery, textile and tobacco.
