Iran: World's 10th Biggest Egg Producer
EghtesadOnline: Iran produces 1 million tons of eggs annually, says the head of Iran Veterinary Organization, adding that the country is the world’s 10th biggest egg producer.
Alireza Rafiepour added that there are 1,632 egg-laying hen production units and 140 egg packaging units in the country, according to Financial Tribune.
“Iran’s per capita egg consumption stands at 205,” he said, adding that 16 billion eggs are produced in Iran annually, IRNA reported.
