West Azarbaijan Mineral Processing Capacity at 9.15m Tons/Year
EghtesadOnline: West Azarbaijan Province has a mineral processing capacity of 9.15 million tons per year, as 117 processing units are operating in the northwestern Iranian province.
According to Parisa Abedpour, the deputy head of West Azarbaijan Industries, Mining and Trade Organization, 39 of the aforementioned processing units in the province are operating in stone-cutting sector of ornamental stones, creating jobs for 519 people, Financial Tribune reported.
These units have the capacity to produce over 827,000 tons of decorative stones per year, IRNA reported.
There are also 78 sand processing units in West Azarbaijan with a combined capacity of more than 8.32 million tons per year, having created jobs for 847 people.
