Tehran Stocks Extend Bullish Run
EghtesadOnline: Tehran stocks opened on a strong note Tuesday with the bull run sweeping through both small and large caps.
The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 15,532.20 points or 1.03% to end trading at 1,522,781.
The TSE’s equal-weighted index was up 1.2%, extending a winning streak that has lasted for nine sessions in a row. The index better reflects the performance of small caps as it gives the same weight to all stocks.
Retail trade rose 26% on the session before to reach 66.86 trillion rials ($243 million). Gainers were 349 tickers while 134 others dropped, representing 27% of the total tickers.
About 13.31 billion shares valued at 70.25 trillion rials ($250.9 million) changed hands at TSE on Tuesday.
Behsaz Kashane Tehran Construction Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 14% to 1,653 rials per share.
Iran Tractor Forging Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.9% to 6,410 rials per share.
Jam Petrochemical Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Pardis Petrochemical Company, National Development Investment Group Company and Iran Tractor Forging Company.
The Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company, Esfahan Oil Refining Company and Social Security Investment Company.
IFX Rises 0.37%
Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 76.66 points or 0.37 % to close Tuesday trade at 20,902. About 3.88 billion shares and securities valued at 51.6 trillion rials ($184.3m) were traded at junior equity exchange for the day.
Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Gilan Electric Power Development Company, Chaharmahal Food Products and Sugar Company and Omid Taban Hour Energy Management Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Zagros Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Saba Tamin Investment Company, Pouya Zarkan Agh Darreh Company and Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company.
