Iran Judiciary chief says ex-agriculture minister convicted

Hujjat al-Islam Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i, the head of Iran's Judiciary said on Tuesday that that a former Iranian agriculture minister has been charged with corruption and sentenced to three years in prison.
EghtesadOnline: "The former minister has been sentenced to three years in prison. Eight people have been convicted in the same case," the Judiciary head said on a visit to Yasuj, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province.
Ejei said that the legal authorities' campaign against corruption is going with force. "Since I became the head of the judicial system, I started checking on imports and exports. I monitored the central bank, other banks and customs. In the Islamic Republic Establishment, we do not overlook any cases [of corruption]." / Mehr
