The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil has said that the authorities of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region have agreed to pardon and release 20 Iranian prisoners held in the Kurdish region's prisons.

The caretaker foreign minister of Iran called for the expansion of economic relations between Tehran and Erbil , describing economic interaction and collective efforts as prerequisites for regional security and stability.
