He made the remarks on touring the aviation department of Mehrabad airport, reports IRNA.
Iran's status in the region and its geographical location require expansion of airports in the country, he said.
Aviation industry should be regarded as an agenda for the economic development of the nation, he said.
In geo-economic terms, Iran has a very important airspace bridging east and west of the world and would be considered as a secure hub for flights in the region, he said.
Turkey enjoyed two decades of stability, but, the recent military coup made the country's airspace insecure, he said.
He said that airspace of other countries in the region such as Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Ukraine and Afghanistan along with other countries in the region are insecure.
Under the current circumstances, Iran should indicate the security of its airspace, he said.
