Iran to defend itself needs no one’s permission: FM’s spokesman

EghtesadOnline: Commenting on Iran’s national and defensive issues is far beyond any foreign countries or international institutions’ jurisdiction, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman emphasized.

“We stressed on the principle position of Iran without mentioning the validity of reported news; conducting any ballistic missile by Iran is in accordance with its absolute rights and international obligations,” Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said.

“Iran’s missile program is totally defensive in nature and none of Iran’s ballistic missiles are designed to being capable of carrying nuclear weapons thus they are not included the domain of resolution 2231. Missile tests are definite rights of Iran in order to defense its national security and interests and no foreign countries or international institutions can interfere in it,” ISNA quoted him as saying.

“Iran to defend itself needs no one’s permission. Our ballistic missile tests are not in contradiction with the resolution and we condemn the comments made by some countries which are politically motivated,” Ghasemi stressed.

The spokesman pointing to the contemporary history and said: “Iran has never attacked any country while it has been victim and target of many raids from other states but Iran has always relied on its defensive power and has protected its territorial integrity and interests.”
