Minister: Petrochemicals production increases to more than 9mt

EghtesadOnline: Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said on Saturday that by creating new petrochemical complexes in the country, around 9.5 million tons of petrochemicals have been added to the output of the industry.

He made the remarks in the inauguration ceremony for Kurdestan Petrochemical Complex in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani.

Zangeneh said the value of the products of these petrochemical complexes reaches 5.5 billion dollars, which is a very noticeable figure.

He said that feeding these petrochemical units is very important and Iran is trying to prepare it in the country, IRNA reported.

Government has commissioned several petrochemical complexes in different areas of the country such as Lorestan, Orumiyeh, and Mahabad, new phase of Marvdasht, Karoun, Takht-e-Jamshid, Morvarid, Marjan, Pardis and Kavian II.

Zangeneh said that the Kurdish areas in the west of Iran will turn into the third petrochemical pole of the country.

During the president tour to Kurdestan province, several big industrial, agricultural, energy and development projects worth more than 27,500 billion rials are to be launched.
