This round of the expo has been debuted with a flashy slogan, "On March Toward Digital Economy," following a recently introduced push by the government of President Hassan Rouhani aimed at curbing Iran's overreliance on oil revenues through cranking up earnings of technology-related businesses.

During the event, the ICT Ministry unveiled its long-awaited User Data Protection Bill aimed at preserving citizens' privacy in the cyber arena.

Elecomp 2018 at Tehran International Fairground will end on July 31.

Some 320 tech firms, 430 startups and 45 game and app developers are participating in this round of the event, showcasing their latest products and services, according to Financial Tribune.

The event was inaugurated by ICT Minister Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi along with his counterpart from Republic of Azerbaijan, Ramin Guluzade.
