Deputy FM discusses Syria, Bahrain, Yemen, Iraq, Libya in Moscow

EghtesadOnline: Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Jaberi-Ansari in a meeting with his Russian counterpart Michael Bogdanov on Wednesday discussed regional developments, particularly Syrian situation after ceasefire, as well as crises in Bahrain, Yemen, Libya and Iraq.

During the meeting, both officials called for pursuing diplomatic channels for solving Syrian crisis to stop the ongoing conflict in the country.

According to IRNA, Jaberi-Ansari and Bogdanov also insisted that the fate of Syrian future would be determined in a calm and violence-free situation.

Iran and Russia also urged increasing efforts for supplying aid to Syrians and solving the problems faced by the people countrywide.

The two officials also deal with the Yemen situation after 18 months of bombing by Saudi Arabia as well as status quo in Iraq, Libya and Bahrain.

In a relevant meeting with the director of Russian Institute of Strategic Studies, Jaberi- Ansari called for promoting bilateral ties and cooperation with the institute.

Positive impact of cooperation between the two countries are evident, he said, calling for promoting ties in all fields.

For his part, Leonid Reshetnikov described achievements of Tehran-Moscow regional convergence, saying that they boast numerous commonalities and can create a lot of opportunities in favor of both nations and regional states.
