EghtesadOnline: Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Tuesday that Iran's policy is based on promotion of solidarity among Iraqi groups, including Shia, Sunni Muslims and the Kurdish population.

Larijani made the remark in a meeting with head of Iraq intelligence service Mustafa Kazemi, reports IRNA.

'The policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Iraq has been based on supporting territorial integrity, solidifying unity and solidarity among all Iraqi political parties including Shia and Sunni Muslims and the Kurdish population. Through unity and integration among all Iraqi groups, they can overcome current problems,' Larijani said.

Larijani said the Islamic Republic of Iran has always stood by the Iraqi government and nation and is fully ready to offer any kind of assistance.

Larijani said that Iranian and Iraqi nations have warm and cordial relations and that Iran is ready to help the Iraqi government resolve the problems.

He warned against danger of disintegration of regional states, including Iraq and said certain western leaders believe that by creating political divide in the countries, they can overcome their problems in the region, while it is a false idea and Iraqi national unity and territorial integrity should be firmly defended.

He noted that Sudan disintegration has over recent years proved that political divide did not solve any problem but made the situation worse.

He said that Iraqi intelligence service has effective role to help ensure the regional security and that Iraq intelligence service would assumes a great share for confidence building and promoting unity and solidarity in Iraq.

'Today, our region is on a volcano of explosives and certain players adopt wrong strategy, putting the region in danger more than ever.'
