Persian language courses resume in Bulgaria

EghtesadOnline: Persian language courses resumed in Bulgaria due to assistance of Iranian Embassy cultural attaché office and the representative office of Sa'adi Foundation in Sofia.

In inauguration ceremony in Sofia, capital of Bulgaria, on Sunday, Iran's cultural attaché in Sofia Mohammad Ali Kiani said that Persian language has special status in the west from Europe to America and names of Khayyam, Ferdowsi, Hafez, Sa'adi, Avicenna and other scholars are familiar for all culture lovers of the world.

He said that there are many words in the Bulgarian language with Persian roots and that the two languages have many common words, according to IRNA.

The course takes four months and classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays with 25 pupils in the preliminary, intermediate and advanced levels.
