Construction of 890 mw power plant begins in Bandar Abbas

EghtesadOnline: Executive operations to construct the first 890 megawatt combined-cycle class F power plant began in Bandar Abbas on Tuesday.

Simultaneously, Assaloyeh and Kahnouj regions had opening ceremony in presence of the First Vice-President Es'haq Jahangiri and Minister of Energy Hamid Chitchian by video conference, IRNA reported.
An official from thermal electricity generation company Abdol Rasoul Pishahang said the power plant is in Class F, which means with less pollution and most efficiency and will be built in two phases with three and half years.
He said the power plant will be built in a territory of 870 hectare area with installation of two gas turbines and one steam turbine with investment volume of 500 million euro.
Hormuzgan province has three electric generation power plants and by launching the combined-cycle will increase to four units.
