EghtesadOnline: Belarus and Iran are mulling over high-level interstate contacts in different fields.

The issue was discussed at a meeting between Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas and Iran’s Ambassador to Belarus Mostafa Oveisi, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

The diplomats discussed plans and further steps for boosting cooperation in agriculture, the prospects of supplying Belarusian animal products to Iran, interaction in international organizations and the prospects of oil cooperation.

The parties also discussed the situation that has recently developed after the United States’ decision to withdraw from Iran’s nuclear deal, Financial Tribune reported.

Oveisi voiced Iran’s condemnation of US measures and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the agreement if the P5+1 format remains in force.

Dapkiunas noted that Belarus supports the further implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the formal name of the nuclear deal, and views it as an important instrument for strengthening regional and global security and stability.
