Venezuelan FM lauds Iranian government and nation’s support and solidarity

Foreign Minister of Venezuela Yvan Gil Pinto in a message has praised the support and solidarity of the Iranian government and nation with Venezuela against the clear violation of international law by the United States.

Iran calls for the restoration of regional peace and stability, an end to hostilities and threats, and the safe return of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, to their country, Pinto wrote on his X account after his phone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.

Earlier on Saturday, Araghchi in a telephone conversation with his Venezuelan counterpart has discussed the latest developments after the US attacks on the Latin American country.

He strongly condemned the US military aggression against Venezuela and the kidnapping of the legitimate Venezuelan president and his wife.

He described this action a clear example of state terrorism and a clear attack on the sovereignty and national will of the Venezuelan people, and emphasized Iran’s support for the people and elected government of Venezuela.

Meanwhile, the Venezuelan foreign minister appreciated Iran’s the principled positions in declaring solidarity with Venezuela.

He stressed that the people and government of Venezuela are determined to defend national sovereignty and the right to self-determination against the US’ bullying and illegal policies./irna
