Iraq receives 20 percent of Iran’s exports
Iranian Commercial Attaché to Iraq Ebrahim Reza-Zadeh said the country’s exports to Iraq is four time more comparing to the amount of exports to the 4 non-Asian continents.
According to ILNA, he said that 70 percent of Iran’s exports are sent to Iraq, the UAE, Afghanistan and China in which Iraq’s share is considerable.
He said that Iraq receives one fifths of Iran’s exports, adding the cost of energy and production is quite high in Iraq, and 90 percent of the country’s market is comprised of imported goods.
Reza-Zadeh said Iran is going to implement plans in Iraq, including establishing trade centers in Sulaymaniyah, Najaf, Baghdad, Erbil and Basra, establishing branches of Iran's Trade Development Organization in Erbil and Basra, establishing centers for direct distribution of goods in Baghdad and Sulaymaniyah, activating Iran-Iraq chamber of commerce and banking network for official trade and joint industrial investment in Iraq.
