According to IRNA, Velayati made the remarks in a joint press conference attended by President of French National Assembly Claude Bartolone.
Touching upon Iran-France ancient-old cultural relations, Velayati added the two countries enjoy rich civilizations.
Commenting on the ups and downs in two countries' relations, he added the two sides have always tried to settle their problems.
Pointing to his today's meeting with Bartolone, he added Iran and France are closely cooperating for backing peace and security in the region.
Velayati reiterated that France also considers Iran as a stable country in west of Asia.
Meanwhile, Bartolone said the signing of the nuclear deal between Iran and six world countries revolutionized Iran’s relations with the international community.
He said he is visiting Iran at a time when a new round of relations between the countries is starting.
Bartolone said the world community should become aware of the fact that all parties involved in the nuclear deal respect its content.
