Bassil appreciates Iran’s support to Lebanese resistance against Zionist regime

He made the remarks Monday night during a joint press conference with the visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, IRNA reported.

Pointing to the friendly relations existing between the two countries, he said the visit of Iran’s foreign minister to Lebanon was taking place at a time when the country was celebrating its overcoming a big political standoff. 

He said the election of the new Lebanese president was the victory of dialogue over provocative language used by terrorists in the region.

He said Iran and Lebanon shared the view that political crises in the region should be solved through peaceful political negotiations not by violence.

What brings Lebanon closer to Iran is the political relations and support they have for each other in international circles, Bassil added.

He hoped that the visit of the Iranian foreign minister to Lebanon at the head of an economic delegation would lead to promotion of relations and provide the Lebanese businessmen and investors the chance to use the new opportunities opened in Iran after removal of sanctions.

He further stressed his country’s interest in having good relations with all friendly countries.
