Cooperatives sector exports $1.8bn worth products, services
EghtesadOnline: Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare for cooperative affairs Hamid Kalantari said on Sunday that the cooperatives sector had 1.8 billion dollar worth exports last year and the figure is predicted to reach 2.5 billion dollars this year.
Kalantari made the remarks in the opening ceremony for the second exhibition on cooperatives sector's capabilities in Tehran.
According to IRNA, he said such exhibitions are an opportunity to create the atmosphere for dialogue and development of interaction between cooperatives sector and people.
He underlined necessity of brand building for cooperatives, which may give them more sustainability in the market.
The deputy minister said that brand building means higher quality for products and using standard for them.
More than 120 cooperative companies from different provinces of the country attended the exhibition in the sectors of production, distribution and services.
Holding experts' sessions on the sidelines of the exhibition is part of the three-day fair.
