Mazandaran Caviar Exports Rise Threefold

EghtesadOnline: Some $10 million worth of farmed caviar were exported from the northern Mazandaran Province during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), which shows a threefold rise compared with the corresponding period of last year.

According to Director General of Mazandaran Fisheries Organization, Valiollah Mohammadzadeh, the production of farmed caviar hit 1,800 tons last year, which figure is expected to reach around 2,500 tons this year, IRNA reported.

There are 18 beluga sturgeon farms operating in Mazandaran, according to Financial Tribune.
